You would think that the taxes that are now being collected on that monstrosity that they’re building in the north end coupled with the countless condominiums that have been built it would offset the expenses from the elementary school.

Once the development is complete there will be substantial property and personal property tax revenue. But that’s still more than a year away.

"Based on overwhelming public support..." 58 vs 42 percent in favor of new schools... Id say the opposition was pretty strong... I doubt that referendum would have passed once people realize how much of burden it might turn out to be on their wallet
